Get ready for a night of live jazz that hits different. On May 12, three powerhouse ensembles — the Grossmont College Jazz Ensemble, SCPA Jazz Ensemble, and Helix Jazz Ensemble — take the stage for an unforgettable showcase of brass, rhythm, and soul.
From swinging big-band arrangements to cool modern grooves, this is San Diego's premier student jazz event. Come out and support the next generation of musicians doing what they love best.
The Helix Instrumental Music Association is one of largest and most successful school music programs in east county San Diego. The Music Program at Helix currently consists of approximately 180 students in eight main groups: Drumline, Bagpipes, Color Guard, Orchestra, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band and Wind Symphony. All three bands, as well as the color guard and bagpipes, combine to form the Helix Highlander Band.
Our foundation, the Helix Instrumental Music Association (HIMA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Tax Id# 23-7255896 formed to support the Instrumental Music program at Helix Charter High School.
